Our client is a specialist manufacturer supporting critical power and industrial infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth, they’re looking for a hands-on Workshop Leading Hand to lead a small mechanical team across workshop and site work.
The Role
This is a working leadership role. You’ll supervise, coordinate and support trades while remaining hands-on with mechanical fitting and assembly.
What you’ll be doing
Lead daily workshop and site mechanical activities
Coordinate labour, materials, tools and subcontractors
Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to trades and apprentices
Monitor safety, quality and project timelines
Review drawings and specifications before work starts
Identify improvements to workflow, productivity and safety
Report progress, incidents and any scope changes
What we’re looking for
Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (or similar)
Experience in a Leading Hand / Supervisor role
Strong knowledge of WHS and Australian Standards
Ability to lead teams, delegate and solve problems on the fly
Confident communicator across workshop, engineering and clients
Solid organisation and time management skills
