The Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Supervisor to lead workshop and site-based mechanical work. This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the tools while driving safety, quality and productivity. You’ll oversee the fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance and inspection of mechanical equipment and systems, while providing clear direction and support to tradespeople and trade assistants.
What you’ll be doing
Lead, organise and supervise mechanical trades, apprentices and TAs
Plan daily and weekly workflow to keep projects on track
Oversee fabrication, installation, maintenance and commissioning activities
Ensure safety, quality and compliance with Australian Standards
Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and minimise downtime
Liaise with customers, engineers and suppliers
Mentor the team and drive continuous improvement
What we’re looking for
Trade qualified with experience in a similar supervisory role
Strong knowledge of WHS, Australian Standards and workshop/site environments
Confident leading teams and dealing with clients
Solid problem-solving and organisational skills
Comfortable with reporting and documentation
