That’s the work you’ll step into here.
As part of this full-time traineeship, you’ll complete your Diploma of Financial Counselling while learning on the job. You’ll gain hands-on experience, structured study support, and mentoring from experienced financial counsellors who genuinely want to see you succeed.
Including a pioneer of financial counselling, Aunty Betty.
Her guidance, wisdom, and deep connection to community will help shape not just your skills, but your confidence and approach to supporting people through tough situations.
You’ll also join a team where culture, community, and purpose sit at the centre of everything. The environment is supportive, grounded, and deeply people-focused.
This is meaningful work with real long-term impact. Both for the community and for your own career.
What you’ll need:
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity
Confidence having sensitive conversations about money, debt, and financial pressure
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Resilience, empathy, and a non-judgemental approach
Comfort working with numbers and administration
A background in admin, accounts, customer service or banking, and an interest in finance, accounting, or community services
Current driver’s licence
Willingness to obtain a Working With Children Check
