Do you thrive on contracts, compliance and the kind some Project Managers avoid?
Because that’s exactly what this role is about.
This isn’t your typical site only Senior Project Manager job. Yes, you’ll be across operations, but this contract lives and dies on it’s documentation. Quality, compliance, reporting and contract administration. That’s the backbone of this position.
SNK Group holds the BWAD Ash Management and Haulage contract at Bayswater Power Station. That’s where you step in.
A Project Manager who can own it. Technically, commercially and contractually. Someone who can keep the project moving while keeping the paperwork bulletproof.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of the BWAD contract, from planning and scheduling right through to close-out.
But where this role sets itself apart is in the paperwork. Every order, every variation, every payment claim, every compliance report. You’ll own it.
That means issuing and tracking contract orders, negotiation variations, managing payment schedules under security of payment legislation, and keeping records so clean they’re audit-ready at a moment’s notice.
You’ll be preparing and updating live project documentation like PMP, SWMS, WHSMP, ITPs, risk registers, QA documents etc. You’re making sure they aren’t just filed away either, but are actively driving performance.
Monthly reporting will be front and centre. You’ll lead formal meetings, presenting data on extraction rates, truck movements, stockpile progress, QA inspections, diesel usage, operator and plant utilisation, and KPI performance. Your reports will shape the conversation with the client and set the standard for what’s next.
On site, you’ll still be across operations, making sure crews and subcontractors are aligned, QA/QC checks are completed, and WHS standards are being met. But the real weight of this role is making sure the documentation tells the full story: compliant, accurate, and backed by hard data.
What you’ll need to bring
You’ve been in project management for over a decade and know what it means to take accountability for complex civil or construction contracts.
You’re not daunted by paperwork. In fact, you see contracts and compliance as the framework that keeps projects on track.
You’re confident working under major contract forms like AS 4000 and AS 2124. You know how to manage variations without letting them spiral, and you’re comfortable preparing, negotiating, and defending claims when needed. Your commercial skills are sharp. Forecasting, cash flow, budgets and KPIs. Your technical eye means you can spot risks before they become problems.
Software won’t trip you up either. Whether it’s MS Project, Primavera P6 or Procore. You’ll use the systems to keep reporting accurate and communication tight. More importantly, you’ll be the one making sure those reports actually mean something. To your team, your client and the project outcomes.
And while documentation is the heart of this role, leadership is the muscle. You’ll guide site crews, mentor junior staff, manage subcontractors, and keep stakeholders aligned, even when the pressure is on.
Your new organisation
SNK Group are a second-generation family business that’s been around for 40+ years delivering projects in the mining and energy sector. Civil, Mechanical, Environmental. It’s all in their DNA. Their purpose? To be better today than they were yesterday.
What that means for you:
Direct employment with SNK Group, not a third-party contractor
The chance to manage a high-profile contract with one of Australia’s biggest energy companies
Monthly RDOs, flexible hours, and a supportive team culture
A role where your project management skills are genuinely value
