We need an Electrical Supervisor who can keep a busy workshop running, keep the crew moving in the right direction, and keep the quality high enough that no one ends up asking awkward questions later.
You'll be based onsite at Hexham, where the tools, the team, and the chaos all live.
What you'll actually be doing:
Everything in the Position Description- planning, delegating, supervising, mentoring, quality-checking, problem-solving, herding apprentices, and stopping electrical issues from turning into electrical incidents.
What your days actually look like:
Assigning jobs to sparkies, apprentices and trade assistants
Making sure the work is safe, compliant, and not held together by hope and cable ties.
Building daily and weekly work plans that stop deadlines from turning into emergencies.
Being the go-to brain when something stops working, sparks unexpectedly, or makes that noise it definitely shouldn’t.
Keeping customers, suppliers and subbies in the loop
Coaching the junior crew so they become less “apprentice chaos” and more “future tradespeople.”
Pushing quality, safety and efficiency because if you don’t, who will?
You’ll thrive here if you:
Know how to run a workshop without running it into the ground
Can balance safety, quality and deadlines without combusting
Delegate based on skill, not guesswork
Like solving problems before they get expensive
Actually enjoy leading people (even on Mondays)
You won’t thrive here if you:
Prefer watching work instead of directing it
Think “supervisor” means “paperwork enthusiast”
Believe PPE is optional if you’re fast enough
Avoid tough conversations (the job has plenty)
